Restrictions: Car must be newer than 2010. Less than 50k miles. If it’s something crazy, it should have a warranty. I want to see what you come up with.

In all honesty, this is my choice. 2012 Regal Turbo. It has 38k miles and they are only asking $15,550. Plus, CPO warranty. Black on black with a sunroof, heated seats, parking sensors, dual zone climate control, and Buick Intellink.

Let’s see your choices!

I’m in pretty much this exact market right now. I’ve settled on a 2013 or newer Fusion, or possible an Accord Sport if I can find a deal.

This is the place I’ve ended up in too for right now.

Honestly, spending hours on Autotrader in this price range has just been rather lackluster with all the results.

My issue is I want to try and live beyond my means because I like having options. A huge requirement for me is a sunroof, so something like an Accord Sport is knocked out. It also eliminates any cheap base model cars which jacks prices up.

Anything loaded is usually high mileage or a reliability nightmare.

I’ve been quite impressed with the amount of Fusion SEs that are available with under 40K miles. I don’t care for the ones with the 17" wheels, but the 18" ones look very nice in my opinion. Reviews seems to be pretty good as well.

I really like the redesign on them; that color is really too.

I think the issue for me is that I would have to find one at a different, farther dealer since my local Ford dealer is terrifyingly bad.

I found a Kia Borrego, which is a car everybody forgot existed. Hell, the CEO of Kia probably forgot about it the day it ended production.

Kinja'd!!!

Of course, all measurements were converted to metric and the price was converted to CAD, just to make things even.

“Best” is quite subjective. Is there a certain set of criteria that you’re holding your purchase to?

It’s *CarMax*! Of course it’s horrifically overpriced.

However their search engine is pretty darn good for late model cars, so there is that.

It may not seem like the most exciting choice at first, but if you think about it, the first gen Chevy Volt is actually a pretty great car. There are over 650 Chevy Volts on Autotrader $16k and under with less than 45k miles. These are some of the most technologically advanced cars out there and they are actually fun to drive in ‘Sport’ mode with their 273 lb-ft of electric torque. These were also around $34k just a few years ago.

I need to find these strange cities when I need small cars... Not that I'd probably want to spend $9.5k on a subcompact hatchback, but if I really needed a commuter I could run into the ground, that's a very decent price.

Why no manual?

After test driving one of these in traffic, I have decided that I will have one soon, as it was even fun in boring stuff. Also, it’s a super easy manual to drive.

First model year car problems...

Not a bad deal at all. In my neck of the woods they’ve been going for 19-25k used, which is really close to what they are new.

My dad is a huge anti manual person.

He doesn’t see the point and thinks I’ll get bored and tired of it within a week or so. And as long as I live at home his rules... Well...rule

03/14/2016 at 20:38

Kinja'd!!!0

Try to counter that with the fact that it makes it less desirable to steal, on certain cars it doesn’t detract from the value(those that have no other options), means you can’t use your phone in traffic, is less expensive to fix, and is unlike most automatic cars, in that you don’t have to drive them fast to get enjoyment out of them.

Late reply, I know, but it’s under $15k, has reasonable mileage for its age, is certified and, despite the cvt, is pretty fun to drive. Cheap to run, too (It’s Nissan, after all. Parts are everywhere.)
